What’s the single most important characteristic for success?
It is dedication to what you do. Without that, you will not be able to put your best into what you do. Having a strong sense of dedication to your craft is what people can evaluate and perceive about you in a professional sense.
What’s your biggest professional success?
Being a part of AES and helping our clients utilize new technology to make their jobs easier. Having people use the tools you have made for them or to show them an easier way through technology is what I value as successful in my line of work.
What important lesson have you learned in your career?
To always try to do a job right, the first time. Taking your time to make sure everything is the way it should be and not taking any shortcuts or putting out something subpar. Because having to go back and re-do it or fix it wastes more time than if you just carefully took time to do it right first.
How do you contribute to the culture of your company?
I do my best to aid others in the company using my skill set, either directly or indirectly in regard to work tasks and projects. I also try to be a team player and participate in group activities and to help include others who are a little more on the timid side.
How has COVID-19 impacted you professionally and personally? What are you doing differently?
It did not impact me being able to work but transitioning to working from home has been different. However, I am fortunate to still be able to get work done both at home and with the few office days I have during the week.
What’s the biggest risk you’ve ever taken?
Leaving Florida to come live and work here.
What is something that no one would guess about you?
That I am an avid cook and gardener.
Write a note to your younger self…
As hard as some things are to deal with, dealing with them quickly and without hesitation will save you from a longer headache.
