Vice President of Marketing & Director of Tourism; North Country Chamber of Commerce/ Adirondack Visitors Bureau
Kristy Kennedy started at the North Country Chamber of Commerce as a Group and Event Specialist six years ago. Today she heads the Chamber’s marketing and tourism efforts. The authenticity she brings to the position is infectious and her results are measurable. Ask Kristy what she is most proud of and her answer is, “The shift in mindset from ‘There is nothing to do here’ to ‘There is plenty to do here!’” That is a huge victory!
Marketing the North Country requires focus and collaboration — qualities Kristy is known for. “There is so much here for sports and leisure, all year long,” she explained. “And we have incredible agri-tourism with sugar houses, microbreweries, wineries, even some distilleries. All right here in the North Country. What’s not to love?”
When Kristy isn’t working, she makes the most of the area, kayaking whenever possible or grabbing a burger and a local brew — “research” on the area, an area that would be hard pressed to find a more passionate advocate.
